At the county fair, a pilot offered to fly anyone in his old, open cockpit plane for $50. One farmer and his wife, who had never been up in a plane, wanted to take a ride but the price was too high.
“Come on,” said the pilot. “If you promise to be a good passenger and don’t do any back seat driving I’ll take you up for nothing.”
The farmer and his wife readily agreed and went for a ride with the pilot.
While up in the air the pilot gave the couple a thrilling ten minute ride with some pretty fancy tricks.
After landing, the pilot said to the farmer, “You did very well for your first flight. I didn’t hear a word out of you.”
“That’s right,” said the farmer. “It was pretty hard. I almost said something back there when my wife fell out.”
