A doctor and a lawyer were talking at a party, only to have their conversation continually interrupted by people asking the doctor for free medical advice. After a while, the doctor, exasperated, asked the lawyer, “What do you do to prevent people for asking you for legal advice away from the office?”
The lawyer replied with a smile, “I give it to them—and then bill them the next day.”
The doctor was surprised, but thought that he would give it a try. He made out bills for the various individuals who had peppered him for advice, and went out to put the bills in his mailbox as outgoing mail. Imagine his shock upon opening the mailbox, only to find a bill awaiting him—from the lawyer.
