Lost Films of Laurel & Hardy, volume 03 (1928)
A compilation of some of Laurel and Hardy's classic short films. All of these are silent, and include some of Stan and Ollie's best work - my personal favorite is "We Faw Down," although "Liberty" is a very close second.

Liberty - One of Laurel and Hardy's classic films. The boys escape from prison, are picked up by friends and change into civilian clothes in the car -- and the troubles begin. Stan and Ollie have on each other's pants, and they spend the rest of the film trying to change clothes, with the boys constantly being discovered in strange places with their pants down -- a very different meaning in today's society! The film ends with a nod towards Harold Lloyd, as Laurel and Hardy end up on the high girders of a skyscraper. - We Faw Down - a classic film, in which Laurel and Hardy deceive their wives about going to a show in order to go to a poker game -- however, the theater they are supposedly in burns down, leaving the wives distraught. In the meantime, Stan and Ollie have fallen into a mud puddle, and are taken by two pretty young girls to the girls' apartment to get dried off -- only to have the wives appear, complete with shotguns, as Stan and Ollie are in the apartment with their pants off. The ending is hilarious.
- The Lucky Dog - The first on-screen pairing of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, this film is of more historical interest rather than a 'true' Laurel and Hardy film. True, both Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy are on-screen, but Ollie plays the part of a robber, while Stan plays his Hickory Hiram character. Still a funny film, but not Laurel and Hardy as people think of the team.
- Love 'Em and Weep - later re-made in the sound era as "Chickens Come Home", Stan and Ollie, along with the indispensable James Finlayson, are henpecked husbands, whose lives are complicated by the return of Finlayson's old girlfriend, Mae Bush.
