I have never seen those you mentioned but they sound good. I'll have to wait for an NTSC version of that dvd set, I guess (but I doubt there will ever be one)

There is a 2-DVD set coming out in the UK soon (information differs as to when) which includes the full, re-mastered version of this Reiniger short and 18 others. Unfortunately, neither The Rose and the Ring nor Aucassin et Nicolette are among them, and I had been wanting to see that latter one in particular. However, if this set sells well then there could be another one which would include them (I can't afford this one, currently, but it's not as if I need any more short films to watch).

If I remember well, this was straight-to-TV. wasn't that a bit too innovative back then to ask Reninger to add color to this film (which, I think, she didn't wanted)?
