I just got back, and when I did it, the entire audience burst out laughing their asses off!

This looks like a spoof to me. Consider the following: Myron doing a Lawrence Welk impersonation, complete with a couple of smirks; the announcement of the Chicken Dance as "the # 1 dance in America"; Bobby retrogressing into his Mickey Mouse Club role; the big fake grins; the uncoordinated dancers, announced as the "kids"; and the poor staging. All of this suggests a hoax on the Lawrence Welk Show, which was quite the opposite.
