It's bad to reply to the pests, they only come back in full swing...let him eat his own words. He'll be burned and buried before our steam engines are.

No, it will not be long. These things are already being scheduled for scrapping.
It may stay a short while longer, but it's days are numbered. Then, it is off to the scrapper to cut them down and melt it down.
Just think of the excitement of watching the blue flames cutting off the parts, streams of molten steel come running off the cuts, making puddles which make a steam vapor when they hit the moist soil. Then there is the spray of red berries while cutting.
Glorious, glorious!

They won't be cut down. They might not get big mainline trips but they'll still run!

I never said that I hate your hobby. Where did I say that Danny, my boy?
I have other things to do, cutting up old steam locomotives is one thing I like to do.
Their day is coming! They are all going to the smelter, to be melted and made into new products.
In my opinion, they all should be cut apart and melted.
It looks like my wish is coming true for every year, about 5 city parks look at the old steam locomotive display and say, "Why?".
That is where I come in, take it away and cut it up!
Cockroach2008 (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
Let's get this statement correct here for you, Danny Boy!
Few people enjoy these machines and many, many more don't care! Those who don't care, would not mine seeing these pieces of junk iron cut apart and the materials used to make new products.
What better sacrifice can be made of these ancient relics than to be used for a new purpose? It is the ultimate in recycling.
These machines are being scrapped, every year at least 5 to 8 of them that were in parks are scrapped.
It will not be long!

I'd agree with WhyAyeMann... what would be the point?
Converting to run on, say, natural gas would be a better alternative, and would keep the nature of the beast alive, without the smoke and pollutants. This has been done successfully on small-scale steamers running at local shows (like Disneyland); not sure about a trans-continental engine.

stupid cockroach. you should defanetly get sqwished!

hahahaha!! That 'fan' joke must have taken you a LONG time for you to figure out!People enjoy these machines and they won't be scrapped! It's funny how you don't have anything better to do but hate on people's hobbies

Well, well, little Daniel Volker my boy! You sure are a mouth full of venom for people you don't even know.
Your steam locomotive is going to be cut into pieces! It will be parked and the fire put out!
Then comes the fun with cutting torches! Red rivers of iron will steam from the cuts and the parts will fall of this junk iron machine!
We end the age of the steam locomotive forever! The materials will be used to make city buses and trucks.
Railfans? What in hell is that? A cooling device?
Cockroach2008 (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
Correct! Banks and all failing businesses should be left to fail of their own! It is the free enterprise system at it's best!
Let the steam locomotives be cut up into scrap metal and make new products from the materials.
Listen to this narrator, ". . . keep this thing alive . . ."! What, does this thing have a pulse? What does and EKG of a steam locomotive look like? What are it's vital signs? If I cut it, does it bleed?
Stupidity!
This thing is junk metal and needs to be cut down! |
