It's a tenor uke - strung High G instead of low. You can find cheap tenor ukes on amazon or ebay, but I'd suggest spending a couple of extra bucks to get one with better intonation. :D Kala makes decent stuff.
As for size...go to a music store (or a friend who has one) and see what you're comfy with.
