This was filmed in Toronto on June 21, 1993. 1993 was the first year that Chicago performed this classic since the death of the great Terry Kath. Oddly, it's also the only Kath-written tune that the band has ever performed since his death. This concert was performed "in the round". It's a Rock n Roll microwave oven! The footage and audio are actually pretty good for an audience recording. The camera was covered a couple of times while security was walking by. The band was smokin' hot during this time. This version of "Introduction" ranks up there amongst my all-time faves. Robert Lamm: Portable Keyboard Jimmy Pankow: Trombone Walt Parazaider: Sax Lee Loughnane: Trumpet Bill Champlin: Keyboards & Vocals Jason Scheff: Bass Tris Imboden: Drums Enjoy!

thats my bad..Im only 19 now. and did notice the intimacy. i like the amphitheatre and all but like you said once you hit the lawns you dont really feel as if you're really there anymore. not as loud, the view is decent but when the whole concert atmosphere is under the roof you feel kinda left out. as for bill, he'd be fine if he didn't act like he was having a seizure all the time. sounded a lot better with bobby singing it this year though!

Including the quote gave easy context to my points. You are clearly quite a bit younger than I am as I heard dozens of shows at the forum. It really was an intimate feeling that the amphitheatre just doesn't have. In the vid, look how soon the seats meet the lawn...a far different experience. As for Bill, I never understood that hiring. I wish he didn't sing any of Terry's songs. He recks Make Me Smile especially

lol first of all you didn't have to repost everything i said!! that was a waste of space..you're phrasing is obviously lost then because guaranteed anyone who read that doesn't think there is anything close to a musical venue there now. my memory is a bit vague on where exactly it was considering i was 3 when i was last there. but anyways listening to this without video for some reason made me think..im sure glad bill doesn't sing this anymore.

"hh...they tore it down and built the molson amphitheatre..a bigger version of the forum except no turning stage." Surely you're kidding. It is nothing like the old forum. The forum was intimate. The majority of the seating of the amphitheatre is seats. The lawn is way up there and the sound isn't nearly as good. "same location," Wrong! it's in a completely different place. There's a water slide where the forum was. "better venue, you're lost" you're sadly confused.

uhh...they tore it down and built the molson amphitheatre..a bigger version of the forum except no turning stage. same location, still has the lawn seating, better venue, you're lost

I agree. Champlin has no right singing that song. Back then, it was simply an introduction to the band, but now it means so much more. Bill wasn't there then, why should he feel he is part of it now? Long story short, Robert should have sang it.

ahh, the old Ontario Place Forum in Toronto. My favourite venue of all time. It was actually a round theatre and the stage would do a complete circle over the course of about an hour. They tore it down quite a few years ago to put up some sort of ride. Sheesh

I agree, he can shred that guitar very well. But the best since Kath...I dont think so. If anything Keith Howland is the best since Terry. Listen to the solos from Kath and Howland, they are very similar, and Keith sticks to the original sound. Not degrading Bailey's playing, because he's very talented. But the best for the band since Kath isnt the greatest thing to say.
