Last year, Jeff played and hosted at a NYC premiere of the documentary about the Holy Modal Rounders. It was cool.

I was surprised to hear him mention Phil Ochs, the Fugs, & Holy Modal Rounders. Jeff Lewis is a cool motherfucker. A few of my favorite songs:
Phil Ochs - I Ain't Marchin Anymore
The Fugs - CIA Man
Holy Modal Rounders - Euphoria

i had some profs who did. they were so invigorating, if i looked down foer 2 seconds to write something down, id miss something. they tended to be harder, but worth it

The Sonics and the song Strichnyne. If thats not punk I don't know what is.

Quite true, and I imagine Lewis would probably not disagree with you. I think his line about the 'stealing' is an only half-serious rebuttal to the many that have bragged that England 'invented' punk. |
