His name probably stems from the fact that he is the percussionist of the future, using midi samplers and less focused around a drum kit. But, I'm just speculating.

this dudes name is futureman because he's on some jedi futuristic shit. he probly made that drum machine/ guitar in his garage. everybody in this band is a jedi and has every right to consider themself one.

Jeez, between the Zendrum, the multiple drums and his crazy sampler-guitar, Futureman really is one of the best percussionists I've seen in a long long time.
