I rode this shinkansen to Osaka from Tokyo twice. Very pleasant experience -- not a hard acceleration only a easy speeding up of train to top speed.

I took the Shinkansen from Takasaki to Tokyo and it only took about an hour. :D
Too bad I didn't get to ride it back, took 3 1/2 hours and 4 different trains xD

i was on the tokyo-kyoto train back in 1997. from shinjiku to kyoto central and then went to osaka.
australia's trains are still shit-holes in 2008.
the japanese dont need cars because their public transport shits on every other system bar eurostar.
