Nah mate the old Commodores were Vauxhal/Opel based but this one the "VE" is a locally designed platform not GM designed.
gnarkillkicksass (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
VE was the first locally designed platform so no its a 100% developed Australian car with a unique chassis, though the platform will be adopted by Cadillac in 2010.

The G8 is built on a holden commodore chassis, Holden is owned by GM but do not use our chassis.

The G8 is not a rebadged Vauxhall. The G8 and the Vauxhall VXR8 are rebadged Holden Commodores, all made in Australia.

Wrong!
both are Australian cars, same model type as well, just body panel changes.

Are you suggesting that Australia is a 3rd world country? Maybe you should have a look around your own backyard, you arrogant fuckwit. I have visited the "greatest" city in the US. New York, NY is a poverty ridden, run down shithole. Come and visit a modern city like Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Brisbane. Compare to what you have in the US and then tell me that Australia is 3rd world.

The SRT cost loads more so it wouldn't be a far comparison. |
