Lost & Found were at our LCMS youth conference in San Antonio back in '95. Wish they had this song back then! Kudos. Too funny.

LOL! I've been to 'close' communion as you describe it more than once-and probably been the cause of it once or twice. (=
Technically, both are correct, although Closed Communion is the original and better-recognized word. Close Communion was later adopted as an alternate term, in part from complaints that the word Closed sounded too forbidding as if keeping people away in spite, rather than expressing caution for protecting people's souls from taking the Sacrament unworthily.

Hello I'm a French Lutheran (like Albert Schweitzer).
Thank you for this very nice and interesting video.

I think you mean "closed communion". Close communion is when Mr. Jensen steps on my foot during the Eucharist.

Actually, not all Lutheran churches ordain women. Of the three major synods, only the ELCA/ELCIC ordain women. LCC/LCMS and Wisconsin synods will only ordain men.
Most LCC/LCMS church practice at least a modified form of Close Communion, although some may word it by way of beliefs (faith in Christ, real presence), not by 'title' (Lutherans of our synod).
Wisconsin synod Lutherans strictly enforce Close Communion-only Wisconsin Synod Lutherans may partake. |
