Michael Jackson clearly stated that this was his favorite song by one of his idols. he said it was a cover. he never said he wrote it...& almost everyone knows that michael was a song writer. yes, other people have written songs for him- and those are very talented people too. the beat for billie jean popped into his head while driving! lol :D

he wrote a number of his songs actually:
That awesome song "The way you make me feel" was written by him
"Leave me Alone" was written by him.
He wrote Bad and a number of songs from that album. But some songs he didn't write.

at least more than many out there..... for CD he write at least 50 songs plus some of his friends writers and when he loves them he use them .....dude everyone does that but check his cds 95% are his songs are his his
