She had been dead for a while already.. From the sound of it the murderer was just a young boy, who was madly in love with the 'woman playing the piano', but became madly jealous when he found out that he wasn't the only one her mind, and killed her.. And now the parents (and police?) demand to see the crime scene..

I'm thinking yes between "I poured her blood into the fire of my rage" in the begnning and it would be a good reason for the mother screaming and the father beating him at the end and would cause the sorrow and stench he is sick from.
