This piece is SO hard, that the original version had to be rewritten by Sibelius! Only recently, Kavakos was given permission to play the ORIGINAL. There is a supremely difficult section in the last part, it's in the original, but in the other versions the orchestra plays it . In the newer version Kavokos did, HE played it. But so did Vengerov! And Vengerov did it clearer, crisper, better! Louder, too. Imo, Vengerov RULES. Yes, this is a BEAUTIFUL piece.

Even though I`m a Finnish average young men I`m objective enough to say that the Sibelius concerto is the best ever written.
Although I have never cried when listening to music, but when listening to this soulful concerto as an adolescent... the emotional and spiritual output of the main theme of the first part... that time I was the closest in my own biography.

People who thinks this girlish young violinist who looks a lot like of an average american teenage girl isn`t a profound artist are megalomany wrong.
Her interpretations are heart felt and profound.
And so we come to the only bad thing with youtube`s classical music videos - there are still people who think that a musician plays as he/she looks like.
The people who want to keep the flag of the art tradition of the western music high must fight against this kind of superficiality.
