He wrote this song about his worries of growing old. His father left Vienna to escape the concentration camps and certain death by the Nazis. His father moved back to Vienna later in life and when Billy went to visit he asked his father a question. Why do the elderly sweep the streets and continue to do manual labor? His father explained that it's what "kept them going". This calmed Billy's worries about aging...Allowing him to take life a day at a time. Hence the song. Beautiful.

This song made me cry. It felt as if it was talking right to me, right to my life. Musicians and artists are so important. What they do is incredible, an important gift to humanity!
