If novelty alone were the measure of good architecture, the Parthenon would fail. Today, novelty is practically the only reason a new building gets noticed. But gimmicks get tiresome and dated; simplicity and good proportions never do. Try telling that to a consumer society.

@NinjaChampionKO Actually glass is a very strong and versatile material and has a lot of benefits. Do a google image search on "Skywalk" and youll see an example of glass used as a main building material. But umm... plastic?

No more beauty in Modern Architecture??? ARE YOU MAD! Maybe you don't think so. As for me, I think we should cherish all Architecture, no matter what it is. It's perfectly okay to have an opinion, but... Why is bent steel and (wtf is chap glass?) uh... chap glass such a sickening monstrosity? In 500 characters please... please tell me why?!?!?! Glass is not really the safest thing to have too much of.... Transparent plastic is safer as long as you can protect it from the fun...

The thinking that architecture is in state of disgrace is good: it means that we are thinking about what we are doing. But I believe that we arent in disgrace: we are in experimentation. Experimentation means do right or wrong, better or worst. We have a lot of examples that have suceed, and other that have failed;. Which suceeds do we have in our generation? Wich fails?

not necessarily, the line between engineering and art is starting to fade. We are seeing alot of engineers incorporate art into their designs.

Engineers get no credit. That is the way it is! Engineers only help to create architecture. They do not get to design. All they need to do is solve problems they are given. I would say engineers are compairable to a calculator a usefull tool to have. Team Architect!
