I was lucky enough to go on an excursion to Obersalzberg and Salzburg when I was in the Army stationed in Frankfurt. I stayed at the General Walker. Thank you so much for posting these videos. They bring back some wonderful memories.

Hi ProTV, To say "camping" in German is "camping," the same word. To find good camping in Salzburg, try either Camping Panorama (3km north of Old Town, open mid-March thru Oct, office generally 7:30-23:00), or try Campground Schloss Aigen (5km southwest of Old Town, open May-Sept, office generally 7:30-22:45). If you are traveling by car, I'd stay at the latter campground -- it's more peaceful, rural. If you're traveling by train, I'd recommend staying at a hostel. Happy travels!

Lucky you! It will be a wonderful chapter in your life to study in Salzburg, especially in summer. There's no need to worry about anything here, in this beautiful corner of the world. Although you will want to learn some German to communicate with locals in their own language, most Salzburgers speak English making a stay here uncomplicated. Millions around the globe wish they had your opportunity to travel and study, see and learn new things. Thus I will conclude the way I began: Lucky you!
