a lot of people train on fixed gears in the off season. it's not uncommon. there is a difference between people who ride and hipsters.

It was filmed in SE Portland, OR. The opening shot is in front of Stumptown Coffee on Belmont. The scenes with the girls are in the parking lot of Esparza's Tex-Mex restaurant, and the road scenes are on Hawthorne St. and the Laurelhurst Park area.
