NPR's Dan Schorr is considering making the jump from typewriter to Twitter. Host Scott Simon and NPR's social media guru, Andy Carvin, introduce him to the site. Even Rainn Wilson -- Dwight on The Office -- makes a guest appearance to extol the virtues of Twitter.

man scott is dressed up for his shift. I'm at my WE shift now and i'm wearing a t-shirt and jeans. That's the beauty of radio- you can look like crap, and nobody knows better!

I love it when Scott Simon gets all patronizing with Daniel Schorr. "You're an old. old man who could die at any second but I'm going to waste what may be your final seconds introducing you to new technology. Do you like technology Daniel? Do you like new technology? It's fun, isn't it?"

I remember listening to the show; although i had an account with twitter prior but never used it. And after that i started using it and now its just part of me. I really admire Daniel Schorr. To me he seems one of the few who are not pushing others agenda.

Twitter is for rapidly perishable information. That news which will be no longer valid by the time you get around to reading your email. Its blogging for blackberries.

I love NPR and Daniel Schorr is a legend and it is a privilege to be able to listen to his commentary and analysis on NPR. Keep up the great work! PS: I still miss BOB! oh well...

Finally now "tweeting" is popular, I've been doing it since the 70s and all it ever got me was a free pass to a mental institution.

I worry about Daniel Schorr. They go in threes, right? Paul Harvey, living legend, gone today. Daniel Schorr--get thee to a doctor and get checked out please. I'm not trying to jinx him at all. I just want him to be there every Saturday, as NPR wouldn't be the same without him, no matter what you think of his politics. I'm not crazy about NPR with its studied gentility and those goofy car talk hoodlums.

Interesting!!! My kids say that all this is very popular with the ADD folks!!! When you first are exposed to Facebook, it is akin to falling into a big barrel of gnats! Onwards and upwards, and wear some bug spray!!!

Thanks NPR for keeping us current. As a spicy girl, my term for middle age, I work hard every Single Day to keep up with blogs, twitter, social media, Facebook. If we want to remain employable we must keep current with social media. We have to stay tech. savvy. Period. The question you asked "What are you passionate about?"was such a great way to help folks break down their fear. Five Stars! Congrats. Lisa Fields Greensboro, NC
