Religion is giving faith to people in a world torn apart by religion so I am thoroughly against it because it's pretty much a hypocritical subject.

I've been wanting to write a song similar to this for a long time...but I think this pretty much hits what I've been trying to say. The truth is, we don't need people to tell us and usually, get the message wrong; evidence of the truth is spoken by God in everything you see. God doesn't need people to prove that he's there. The truth though, is that Christianity has been tainted by Christians. If people were left to find God on their own, there would be more Christians. I believe anyway.

For example, when I listen and think of my own little girls, I feel blessed. I feel that they were angels sent to me for a reason.
I find god, love, purity, beauty, perfection and pure innocence in their eyes. I look at them, especially when they are asleep, and I believe Heaven exists inside of them. I believe that's where they were sent from for personal reasons.
To you it's about bridging a gap, to me it's something different. Doesn't make me or you wrong. Just different to us both.

sbentjies......calling people closed minded??? Yet professing to know precisely what it is about??? That's quite ironic and an oxymoron at the same time I think.
Different people interpret different Live songs in different ways. Ed has said it himself, that it's the the biggest and most beautiful part of his music, different interpretations. It's not meant to mean just one thing, it's meant to mean something different to everyone.

@youbigma I agree with you when i heard the lyrics i automatically thought of him finding his religion and god again and not through people preaching to him but in a thing as simple as his daughter.

anyhow.. Just because I want to be difficult and slightly change the subject between religious matters..... (or non, either way)
I love this song, Live is freaking awsome :)

The metaphor is so obvious and so simple-bridging the gap between you and your child. The enduring bond between you. To interpret it in black and white based on the words as an anti-religious statement is just ignorant. LOOK AT THE VIDEO oh closed minded DOLTS |
