Yea, well, southern rap is just the most popular so there are more southern rappers than other ones. My top three goes Dr. Dre, Eminem, Jay-Z

Though rap originated in the north east, history shows NY rappers will fall weak, allowing other styles to take over. Just like the west did in the early 90's. Southern rap did just that. Shooting and robbing didn't appeal to the mainstream anymore, but 24's and "da club" did. I agree Soulja Gurl sucks, but don't blame it on the south.
