Excellent comparison compilation. Eventually more enhancements might be made. I'd enhance the images on the bridge station monitors a bit.

As soon as I saw a Star Trek Remastered vid on You Tube, I RAN out as fast as I could and bought the boxed set. It is so worth it, and the additional material is a major bonus. Fantastic work CBS!!!

Well, speaking as someone who actually watched the ORIGINAL airing Star Trek on NBC, I'd say the enhanced CGI does look better than the original, and I think would add to the overall story. Let's be frank, the late 60's fx sucked the big wahoonie, in part because Star Trek was always operating under tight budget constraints. The cheapness of some of the fx actually detracted from the stories. These make it seem more like you are really there, out in sapce around some alien planet.

Original is far prettier. and somewhat timeless

Yeah, because before the moon landing, folks were unaware of clouds. Please.

I really like how the remastered screens have a nice big depth and scale to them.

TOS has always held a special place in my heart and always will, and the remastered effects(in my opinion) only serve to enrich the experience of watching the episodes. The stories themselves have not been altered. A very impressive effort overall.

@SVWillmer
technically from the movie 'first contact', it is stated that a human first reached warp 1 in the year 2060 (50 years from now!).
and when the vilcans noticed the warp signature they went to congratulate us humans, founding the "Federation"
but answering your question:
yeah it would be awesome, but it would be even awesomer if it where a mere coincidence as in the original star trek series had dissapeared and when they would find it they'd be like "=O psycic" lol

I think your right, maybe the planets are dodgy looking in TOS, but the enterprise actually looks real. Guess we'll never see that again new until the enterprise is actually built.
Wouldnt it be cool if in 200 years they made the first star ship looking just like this one? ;)
