No, the jews comment was directed at someone else not you. Yeah the Catholic church gives a lot of money to charity, but what are they going to do with all the money they get from donations, and the fact that they aren't taxed? What does evolution contribute ? A better understanding of the natrual world, how animals become extinct. Which leads us to understanding of how viruses and bacteria work leading to better cures and antibiotics.

the church get billions of dollars too. and the world is still in sorry shape. ive seen churches get built gloriously while the people and kids in the slums surrounding it were only given two breakfasts meals after it was completed. then the church will ask for donations.

even if we completely ignore the various medical treatments, mechanical and software improvements (many more things but i only listed what i've studied) that are directly influenced by the theory of evolution. we would still have to realize that evolution is basically the unifying theory of biology. it is the basis of pretty much everything done in biology in recent times. biology without evolution is like physics with neither relativity nor quantum mechanics.
