they r both incredible guitar players. id say they have equal talent as far as playing goes but bumblefoots songs tend to have a tune instead of crazy solos and fucked up noises.

rons not a shredder or he hates being labeled as one bc he CAN sing very well and play slow/beautiful songs
ShredST (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
So it never occurred to you that maybe they both can be masters?
gehennaspariahs (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
Wrong. Ron's not a master BH is. That's all that needs to be said.

I think it was during the None Radio interview or something. Anyway, it was a long ass Bbf interview from like 2005 and he said that Buckethead contacted him a few years before because he wanted him to SING on one of his albums. Ron wanted to do it but Bucket never contacted him back.

Ron Thal isn't just a shredder. He can shred but he can do lots of different stuff, and trust me he knows how to hold back, and doesn't overplay mellow songs for instance

This comment is a bit old, but what the hell.
When did Bumblefoot say that he wanted to do something together with Buckethead?
a duo of Bumblefoot and Buckethead is something I always wanted to see.

Slash isn't a shredder. He's more of an in the pocket guy who also writes great tunes, and he has great tone. I like shredders like Ron Thal, but the songs that Slash played like Sweet Child and Paradise City are flat out classics. The new album that Axle put out pales in comparison in every way.
