To amputate or not? Tape 1 of AON (Amputate or Not) series

To go in for elective amputation surgery or not. I will decide in one more year. Obviously I will undergo another surgery if need be but it is fraught with difficulty and I may still get it cut off. I may not have a choice at that point as it could become infected... I know the leg will eventually heal - it is a question of whether or not I will be able to play sports at the level I am accustomed to. It has been a year thus far and to date I can't.
