David Selznick made this movie right after his great hits Gone With The Wind and Rebecca.
Claudette Colbert heads a great cast and is simply superb. David Selznick's great love Jennifer Jones is fine in this film as is Jones estranged husband Robert Walker, along with pro's Joe Cotten and Agnes Mooorehead.
Stanley Cortez's great black and white photography is memorable...especially the magnficient train sequence.
This is one of my favorite movies

Thank you for posting this. SYWA is also one of my all-time favorite films. I first watched it as a pre-teen on WOR's "Million Dollar Movie." It was so long, they played it over 2 weeks. I never tire of watching it. Do you also know "So Proudly We Hail"? Highly recommend it.
