You should check out the original version by the Delmore Brothers. Great stuff man, great stuff!

he picks the strings of his guitar with a flatpick, also known as a plectrum. instead of his fingers, which is called fingerpicking. you should use wikipedia. type in "flatpicking" or "fingerpicking" and it will explain in detail. see chet atkins for fingerpicking.

What do you mean by flatpicker?

Norman is one of my favorite all time flat pickers.....he has a gift

Does anybody know what album this constellation and music can be found on? Most records I´ve listened to with Blake is with solo guitar. Great stuff anyway.

Wonderful stuff. It doesn't get any better than that, in my book!

same lineup as rounder records 'rising fawn ensemble' record -- please, someone tell them to repress that album. my vinyl is wearing out!

So, so nice. First, using a cello as a bass! Second, Norman Blake's flatpicking and voice. Third, James Bryan on fiddle. I had the great opportunity to enjoy a slow jam that he lead in Elkins, WV last year. He looks quite a bit older these days, but he hasn't lost his chops. Five stars to you all.
