It wasn't approved for military use because it isnt cost effective to mass produce. You say you can't put a price on saving a soldiers life, but tell that to the democrats. ;-) If they could make it lighter, and cheaper...I'd be all over it. If they could make it lighter and maintain that flexibility...threoretically you could use it on the extremities like the thighs or upper arms also...now that would be something I would pay for

1)I think they should make all the armor a solider wears outa this stuff. 2)I wonder once it becomes avalible for the military I wonder if it'd ever become availible for civilians. Probibly not though. thats cool armor

Yeah, no. I mean, if the US could get it why not any other industrialized nation? And if the armor gets too great the bullets need to be better too. We don't use black power cannons on tanks. We use 10$ IEDs. We don't use IEDs on a sophisticated system using mid-air detonation device carrying tanks of the new age, we make something else. Something that will be just a cheap and good enough will be what wins in the end.
