The first thing a muslim should do after having made a sin is (he must free a slave) and if there are no slaves, then he or she should do what's next! this is how slavery vanaished! so, Islam is behind the FREEDOM of all slaves around the whole word! Islam is all about Peace! the words (Islam, Salam) mean submission & Peace! so,dear viewer, stop the hate and stop being racist! dont judge Islam and muslims,read about them!

he WAS a slave CAPTAINbut he went throughaTERRIBLE storm that he said made him belive there was a god watching him and what he did. He soon realized the evils of slavery and became a preacher and wrote that song...thus" i once was blind but now i see"and that god"saved a wretch like me"hesaid the ghost of the 20,000slaves he brought over lived with him foreverThe horrors of slavery and the effects on the black community are sadandstillalive today but now the image overshadows the truth

@ YooriJapan Remember the Nazis and the Jewish. The "Chosen Ones by God." It is common for people to believe in sungods and of being the chosen ones. It is called racism.

This is amazing what they went through for us i think we need to have some feeling and stop acting the way we do to each other but i am very proud to have black roots because we are now the best and the chosen ones by GOD.

You ain't kidding. I got in trouble teaching 5th graders that Columbus allowed his cohorts to enslave Native Americans because he was a poor manager. But in my opinion, it's better to get in trouble speaking truth to power (and children) than to allow history's lesson to go unheeded. This was a fantastic project! I just love this video.

I bet most people don't know that. It's easier to teach a distorted perspective of history in schools than it is to account for an embarassing blemish such as the advocacy and institution of slavery. It's sad- but there is a responsibility upon each of us to learn about not only our own culture and heritage but to explore, on your own, the culture of the people you live amongst and interact with on a day to day basis.
