It's not really banned, it's just that the channel's image is not the best in the states. Most cable operators don't offer it because they fear that US American companies will stop to advertise throught their tv network.

ANOTHER ANGLE: WAIT,WAIT, IT seems many were offended by the comment:"BBC DUPLICATE".. I can say that this should be taken as a compliment. Why? Aljazeerah is an Arabic channel. Broadcasts in 2 languages. And now has an office in the States. It sprung on the waves almost overnight. It is Arab owned to my knowledge. But the fact that an Arab nation hosts a free news agency and owned by arabs is GrAND. And if it duplicated the bbc already? a news giant? then it has accomplished a lot.
