I agree with you. Nobody, not even Dean Martin, can compare to Domenico Mondugno's version of this beautiful song!!

Domenico Modugno's recording of this song was the first Grammy winner for Record of the Year (1958)...in the United States. It is also the only foreign-language recording (sung entirely in Italian) to take this top honor.

This was so popular in 1964 in Italy, everywhere you went you heard it. Hard to believe I have been away from Italy that long. Brings back such memories. Thanks for posting!
