The Baby lab area managed to scare me, because although the guy died at the window, and despite the Bambinos floating around in the...things I felt safe because you could see through that window, and I entered the chamber without my guard up, I felt safe due to the chamber being well lit in a green glow, and because I could see through that observation window, the thing was, I was attracted to the dead guy, so I approached looking at him when that damn mutated Bambino attached itself to me.

The only safe sense you get in this game is when you get to that tram! and you know the next chapter will start of in that tram area, and you know there will be a safe area with a store, bench, and ammo lying around, the multiple doors leading to your objectives surrounding that safe area, I was shitting myself when you had to go back to the med labs! because I was so glad I escaped, but going back!

Even your character was somewhat a bit scary, as the suit was pretty eerie looking, and of course the noise your character makes when injured, it is not an actual human voice that you can distinguish going Aw HoooAh but muffled by the suit makes it more eerie in a sense, as if you can not even get close to your character, can not determine him from his vocals.

The ship itself was scary, e.g. the intro, the ships rib structure effects amongst those asteroids in darkness, like a metallic skeleton, and the noise of the doors, machines in the ship, sound effects, you can hear the hull of the ship twist, things in the ship that you think are actually there, but it fools you so well.
