"Casino style" Salsa dancing -- Chinese man with Cuban woman

I can't even remember where I first saw this clip, but it's from a Cuban television show called "Para Bailar Casino." This particular style of Salsa dancing has usually been unique to Cuba and Miami, but is starting to spread slowly to wherever Salsa dancing happens around the world. So, it's still fairly rare to see a Chinese guy (or any non-Cuban) who is this skilled at casino style Salsa. He has plenty of moves but, more importantly, he captures the fun spirit of the dance. The crowd obviously responds well, as you see them stand up and cheer! In the video clip, there is a caption saying the name of the Chinese man is "You Fei Huo," but apparently his real name is Yaofei Huo. For us English speakers, he goes by "David" Huo. :-) He teaches in Beijing, China at a place called Casa De David, and his website is: http://www.huoyaofei.com/engli... (For more information on him, click the link on that webpage that says "Team") The song to which they are dancing is called "Esto Te Pone La Cabeza Mala" by Los Van Van.

I don't care about anything actually. My whole point is that dancing is about FUN not about COUNTING shit. Get it? I'm done.
Tropicoco123 (October 8, 2008 at 9:22 pm)
Your wrong...it's not about keeping a "freaking count". It about keeping the freaking beat of the music. And avoiding making your partner readjust to whatever beat change you decide to make. Just say you don't care about the beat and we'll leave it at that.

Look whatever...dancing these days lost all meaning, its not even about enjoying the dance anymore, its about 123...567 keeping a freaking count inside of your head, its like dancers move like robots these days. This guy in this video is dancing THE REAL WAY. THIS IS REAL DANCING. Like it or not.

Counts and beats are the same shit and they come with the music and used by musicians. Dancers are supposed to follow them, if they don't they kill the rhythm of the dance. You're right, dancing is dancing but if you continuously change beats, how can your partner follow you? And this goes to purpleinLA last comment. This has nothing to do with the chinese guy's level of dancing.
PurpleinLA (October 8, 2008 at 6:18 pm)
That's the truth, they both can dance.
PurpleinLA (October 8, 2008 at 6:18 pm)
What difference does it make? Dancing is dancing period. The instructors were the ones who made up that "count" shit...

Man .what are you talking about dominican first foot that's just nonsense. Cuban always had danced like that since the son dance was created by cubans the left foot forward is being used since the creations. Go to wekipedia and find out for your self.
granrey (September 29, 2008 at 6:32 pm)
He is dancing "on 1" but like dominicans he is using the left foot foward first. I have not seen cubans doing it like that.
