I cut my teeth on an Al Jolsen record. My father loved him so. He passed in May of 2005 and whenever I miss him I play his Jolsen records. Al Jolsen, Patsy Cline and Cass Eliot were his favorites...he said they all had unusual voices.

My darling, nine years ago today. These words mean more as each year passes.
How a voice, music and words from the past, stand the test of time. The memories of those that are now gone, I still see dancing at the weddings with tears flowing to this wonderful, loving song.

Indeed, as with all singers, the voice got deeper. However, it remained (to my thinking) very resonate and still quite pleasing. You will notice the same thing on my postings of Paul Robeson. His voice also remained quite good when he got older. |
