In the 07/11/2004 newsletter, I made what I considered to be an inoccuous request—I requested American subscribers to contact their senators in favor of the Federal Marriage Amendment, legally defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman.  I was surprised by some of the responses that I received.

Among other responses, I received an e-mail from someone active in the homosexual lifestyle, who said "I am a child of God." who in addition to various insults informed me that "God didn’t write the bible.  Man did."

Now, this article isn’t to defend myself, nor argue against either gay marriage or homosexuality.  I would like to take this opportunity to publicly declare where the "ministry" of clown-ministry.com is derived from.  Unlike the writer, I believe that "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction unto righteousness." (II Timothy 3:16) I believe in the Bible as God’s holy, infallible, unchanging, eternal Word.  My salvation depends on Jesus Christ, the Messiah.  I agree with the Apostle’s Creed.  I do not agree with removing any part of God’s Word that I don’t like, don’t agree with, or makes me uneasy—indeed, those are the parts that I need to look at the more closely, since God is likely trying to convict me of something.

This does not mean that anyone who does not believe these things is unwelcome.  I have received e-mails from Christians, professing Christians, Jewish people, atheists, agnostics, etc.  Everyone is welcome; just be aware of the Biblical world view of the author and editor of this site.  Also, please be aware of the purpose of this site: to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to preach the good news via the medium of clowning, and to edify the body of believers.
