Rockin’ Thru the Rockies - the Three Stooges

review of the Three Stooges short film 'Rockin’ Thru the Rockies' -- Moe, Larry and Curly are frontier guides leading a minstrel show west. When hostile Indians run the horses run off they are stranded. They must contend with a snow storm and a marauding bear as well as the Indians. After almost killing each other ice fishing they solve their problems by rigging up a sail on the wagon and sailing west.

Grips, Grunts and Groans - the Three Stooges

The Three Stooges are hobos who get thrown off a train and chased out of a railroad yard. Taking refuge in the "Hangover Athletic Club," Curly is hired as a sparring partner for Ivan Bustoff, wrestling champion (shades of the WWE!) The boys are hired by Bustoff's manager to make sure he doesn't drink, and when they fail Moe sends Curly out into the ring disguised as Bustoff. A remake of "Punch Drunks" with a wrestler instead of a boxer - and, arguably better, depending on your tastes.

Monkey Businessmen - the Three Stooges

movie review of 'Monkey Businessmen' starring the Three Stooges - Moe, Larry and Curly decide, after being fired for incompetence, decide that they need a vacation -- and go to a crooked rest home, where they try to break out before they're fleeced of their last penny -- and after being imprisoned in the steam room, they capture the bogus doctor and cure a rich hypochondriac.

Three Little Pigskins - the Three Stooges

In 'Three Little Pigskins', the Three Stooges (Moe, Larry, Curly) are mistaken for the 'Three Horsemen of Boulder Dam,' famous college football players, and hired by a gambler to play for his team. They agree, blow the big game, and get their just deserts. A young Lucille Ball has a part as a gun moll.

A professor bets that he can turn the Three Stooges into gentlemen. After many attempts to teach them etiquette, he takes them to a fancy society party. The party quickly degenerates, but the Stooges end leaving as gentleman after all while the other guests have adopted Stooge-like behavior.

Woman Haters - the Three Stooges

The very first Three Stooges short film made for Columbia - with a few seeming oddities. All of the dialog is spoken in rhyme, the Stooges' character do not share the actors' names, and there's much less slapstick than we're accustomed to -- but over all, a nice beginning. It's interesting to see how the Stooges' characters and films progressed from this. The basic plot is, the Three Stooges swear off women for life, joining the Women Haters club. Larry goes to break up with his girl, only to be frightened by her father, and marries her instead. He then tries to hide the news from his two fellow members of the club.

Listen, Judge - the Three Stooges

The Three Stooges (Moe, Larry and Shemp) are fix-it men who are brought before a judge on a charge of chicken stealing. They escape from the courtroom and wind up getting hired in the judges' house after their antics attempting to fix the doorbell cause the servants to quit. The boys are discovered when the cake they bakes explodes all over a political supporter of the judge and he loses his chance for re-election.
