The Black Eye - I Love Lucy
Fred and Ethel Mertz overhead Lucy reading a mystery novel to Ricky, and they mistake it for an actual fight between the Ricardos. Later, when Ricky throws a book to Lucy and accidentally hits her in the eye, Fred and Ethel assume that Lucy is being abused! Ricky, trying to patch things up with Lucy, has Fred send her flowers in Ricky's name. Fred, however, signs the card from himself instead of Ricky! Ethel finds out and throws the box of flowers at Fred, giving him a black eye...
