For many years, a minister and a professor had weekly golf games together. They were very evenly matched, and there was a friendly rivalry between the two men.
One spring, the professor’s golf game suddenly improved so much that the minister was regularly beaten. The preacher’s efforts to improve his own game were completely unsuccessful. However, the minister finally came up with an idea.
The minister went to the local book store and purchased three "how to improve your golf game" books, and gave them to the professor as a birthday present.
In no time at all they were evenly matched again.
