The boss returned from lunch in a very good mood, and had the employers gather together. He had heard some very funny jokes during his business lunch, and wanted to share them with the staff. After the joke, the staff laughed heartily—except for Julia. The boss went on to tell another joke, and again, everyone laughed out loud—except for Julia. And so it went, with everyone appreciating the jokes, except for Julia.
Finally, the boss couldn’t take it any longer. "Julia, why aren’t you laughing? Don’t you have a sense of humor?"
Julia replied, "I have a sense of humor, but I don’t have to laugh—Friday’s my last day."
