You are here: Three Stooges short films >Rip, Sew and Stitch - the Three Stooges

Rip, Sew and Stitch is a remake (technically, a re-edit with new scenes) of the Three Stooges short film Sing a Song of Six Pants, both starring Moe, Larry and Curly.  It is inferior to the original short film, although it has some bright moments.  The basic plot has the Stooges running a tailor shop, about to have their equipment repossessed.  A bank robber, Terry Hargan, takes refuge in their shop while trying to escape from a police detective.  He escapes, but leaves his coat behind, with a safe combination in the pocket.  Unlike the original short film, this one ends with a climactic fight in the back room of the tailor shop, ending with the boys triumphant.

Funny movie quotes from Rip, Sew and Stitch (1953) starring the Three Stooges - Moe, Larry, Shemp

Shemp: Look what you did! Now, my hat won’t fit me!
Moe: Don’t worry, I’ll fix it. (puts the cut-off hair on Shemp’s head, starts hitting him on the head)
Shemp: Stop!  Stop!  I won’t wear a hat!

Shemp: This is the store where your dollar has more sense!

Shemp: Where did you get this mess?
Detective: Here!
Shemp: What a beautiful mess-terpiece.

Shemp: 200% wool!
Detective: 200%?
Shemp: Yeah, these sheep led a double life!

Moe: T-H.  I wonder what that means?
Shemp: Teddy Hoosevelt?
Moe: You’re wrong, quiz kid.

Larry: You stupid stooge!  Are you trying to shoe me like a horse?
