Freckles the Clown
one morning bent down
to sniff at a lovely red rose,
but lifted the blossom
too close to the awesome
expanse of his bubbly red nose.
To this day that poor rose
no longer has petals;
they’re now stuck in the nose
of a clown named Freckles.
