How Much for that Tie? - a free clown skit dealing with appreciating what God has given us
A skit for 2 clowns, using the idea of purchasing a new tie to talk about contentment, and what we already have in JesusHow Much for that Tie? a clown skit for 2 speaking clowns, An original skit by Raynbow the Clown
(starts with Clown 1 having a small table set up on stage, with some ties displayed for sale...)
Clown 1: Well, ready for my first day selling ties! Now all I need is a customer…
(Clown 2 walks by, slowly, oblivious to Clown 1—wearing a clown tie)
Clown 1: Hopefully, a gullible person, and not too bright…
Clown 2: (head snaps up, looks at audience) Did somebody call?
Clown 1: Hello sir! Are you in the market for a new tie?
Clown 2: (looking down at his tie) Well, I’ve got this tie—it was a gift from my Father, and it matches what I’m wearing, and it’s really great quality—(does a take to the audience) Sure! Let’s see what you’ve got!
Clown 1: (holding up a tie made of tissue paper) Well, we can start with this beauty right here! Talk about quality! Talk about quality! Have you ever seen quality like this? Only $1.00!
Clown 2: (pays the dollar, picks up the tie, tearing the tissue paper) Nobody’s ever seen quality like this! What else do you have?
Clown 1: (picks up a second tie, with holes cut out of the material) Well, we have this golf tie! Only $1.00!
Clown 2: (pays the dollar, holds up the tie towards the audience, looking through the holes, perhaps putting a finger through a hole) Golf tie?
Clown 1: Sure! With this, you’ll always have a hole in one! (bends over, laughing at his own hilarity—Clown 2 does a slow burn towards the audience)
Clown 2: Hmm… anything else?
Clown 1: Of course! How about this beauty? (holds up a tie, with a toy bow from a bow & arrow set ‘tied’ in the middle of it) Only $1.00!
Clown 2: (pays the dollar, takes the tie) What kind of tie is this, anyway?
Clown 1: A bow tie, of course! (again, laughs uncontrollably, while Clown 2 does a slow burn)
Clown 2: (with a deep sigh) You know, none of these really seem… for me. Do you have anything else?
Clown 1: (thinks deeply for a moment, gets a brainstorm—perhaps with a light bulb above his head) Yes! I have the perfect tie for you! It matches your outfit, and it’s really great quality—try this one on! (hands Clown 2 back his original tie)
Clown 2: Wow! This is perfect! And it fits perfectly! (walks off stage)
(Pastor walks on stage, to start talking about how we spend so much time looking for the things that we already have, as a gift from our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ)
