Merry Andrew (1958) starring Danny Kaye
A very funny, very nice Danny Kaye movie, where he plays a slightly stuffy professor who is digging for archeological artifacts at a site in England, where a circus is performing -- and he gets pulled into the circus life ...Somehow the subject of Danny Kaye came up and I wanted to find my favorite Danny movie. It wasn’t in our movie guide. I found your “Merry Andrew” review online and was heartily disappointed to learn that it’s not available. The scene with Danny filling in for the ringmaster and floating off into the bigtop. The contrast between the stuffy “Cheers, Cheers” song by his fiancee’s family and the wild “Salu!” by Danny his new love’s family. Danny at his best!
