The first I Love Lucy episode to be filmed, Lucy Thinks Ricky is Trying to Do Away with Her has the insecure Lucy's overactive imagination get her in trouble, not for the last time. Turning molehills into mountains is a specialty with Lucy, and she thinks that Ricky is planning to kill her. Once Ricky learns what is going on, he decides to play along in order to teach Lucy a lesson. Will he never learn? - Technically the first I Love Lucy episode. Although the first episode filmed, it wasn’t shown until the fourth week of the series
- In this first episode, Desi Arnaz was trying to film the production live, with no breaks; this is why the cast is wearing multiple layers of clothing - in order to ‘shed’ one layer for a quick change
