Landgon DID achieve stardom...at the tail end of the silent era. When "talkies" came in, he didn't have the material that would have made him successful in sound films. His 1929-'30 shorts for Hal Roach/MGM were a disappointment, and the series he did for Educational (including this one) was considered "mediocre". By the time he began his final series of shorts for Columbia in 1940, he was considered a "has-been".

Why this guy never achieved the stardom that he deserved is beyond me. His talent was certainly there, but it was never harnessed the way it was supposed to be, had Harry been a bit more attentive to writers and directors, who knew their stuff better than he did. What a shame, really.

I just love Harry. Something different from other comedians. Such a flirt too, in his comedies. I think he was sexy too.

I love the little dance Harry does when he's hitchiking!
