Never doubt the insanity of some despots. If man has the evil capacity to viciously murder and rape his own children while holding a blank face and acting cool, never doubt his capacity to lose it and nuke us. There are those in power that needs to be a worry to some, becuase some people dont give a damn about life and would rather see people drown in their own blood. This is a plausible scenario.

Red Shift, Pretty good info. I have buildings crumbling down to 1 psi. I modelled up for the 1 megaton and you got info on that size for subs - thanks. That's what will get through against the US.. See my webby listed under my profile and click on the Nuclear Cloud and you'll see the model at the bottom. The radiation is the killer besides the 2-5 PSI and thermal heat blast.

No nuke can destroy half of Britian. the Hiroshima bomb was 15kt the fireball was only 200m, the Tsar bomb 50,000 kt largest bomb ever tested had a fireball of less then 6 km. It would take literally 200 tsar sized bombs to sear every square kilometre of the UK. the actual blast wave of a nuclear bomb extends many miles but as long as your not in the fireball modern buildings can survive. Also the nukes the Uk has to fit on the submarines are only 1 megatone each. Any bigger they won't fit.

i think i mass nuke war will never happen personaly because almost all countries have then now so one person to fire one in the first place will kill himself and a chain reaction will happen and destroy all traces of life on earth no one is crazy enough to kill them self and the entire race. i mean 1 modern nuke can destroy half of brition nd brition has about 100 of the things
