But lets just say you're 'well up' for the Solipsistic Simulation Hypothesis. In which case me, Neil Armstrong, the Saturn V rocket, and the rest of the universe including the world and all the people on it are a simulation, and you ugowar (your soul - the kernal of your very being) is the only real thing there is! Get your head around 'that' hoax!!

What the poster you deleted may have touched upon are the seeds of a far greater argument on the perception of our reality, and how deep the hoax could go... Many philosophers have questioned our perception of 'reality' including Descartes, Jean Baudrillard (Simulacra and Simulation) and Bertrand Russell. This also relates to religion and its interpretation of the universe, and what and who may God be?!! Facinating stuff... So a good discussion like this *should* be negotiable!!

Deleting comments that 'are offensive to your intelligence' isn't really on. It's your YouTube page, so you can do what you like, but I sure wouldn't delete it - it's a gag on free speech, and free speech is the basis of a civil society. In relation to the hoax proposition, just because Neil Armstrong 'felt' he was walking on the moon, doesn't mean he was actually on a moon. Read up on the Simulation Hypothesis, of which the 'brain-in-a-vat' element is a argument for philosophical skepticism.

The comments I deleted are the classic moon hoax stuff which I will not tolerate here, period. They *are* offensive to my intelligence and to intelligence and efforts of all the people that ever worked on the Apollo project. I have no intention of leaving them up so other nuts can see them as well and start yet another pointless argument over youtube. This is non-negotiable.

Woah, woah. Hang on a sec. I haven't read the comments you say you've deleted. What twisted beliefs did they hold? I think you shouldn't delete comments (unless they're blatently offensive and aimed at a specific individual, of course) because others are no longer able to make their own mind up on the point that they made, and therefore it prevents a healthy debate from occuring. What did the poster suggest in this instance?

Sorry... I don't live on YouTube.

Crikey rakrupski, did it really take you four months to think of that response?!! Anyway, no one else mentioned that ullage engine fact but me (I think). And you are correct about the reason why there are no ullage engines on the first stage. However, I think they should have put ullage engines on the first stage - and ignited them just as the rocket was taking off - to make the take off seem even more exciting than it already was!
rakrupski (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
Well a range safety tracking report really isn't necessary when the vehicle is almost in orbit. The "IP" is "Impact Point" which is constantly calculated - it's where the vehicle would fall if it quit at that point. At first the IP is over land, then it's over water, finally it's a moot point. That's why flight sounded "annoyed", because the RSO gave him a useless report.
rakrupski (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
Who ever said there were ullage engines on the first stage? I certainly didn't. The first stage is ground started... no need for ullage engines when you have gravity. ;-)

Saturne V the finest rocket ever built! The Schuttle is more like a truck or a bus than a rocket. Space is not for TOURISTS. That was true and remains true!!!
