you didn't say anything new. question is closed. i'm russian. it sounds very strange for russians when they see woman with this name. for them it's like nickname of parrot or dog for example. but it's ok. we have more strange examples in the world (globalization).

Yes, but in Russia it's a male's name. Maybe, it makes sense since Elton John is gay. Of course, a non-Russian audience would have no clue it's a male's name in Russia. According to my friend, it's only a man's name in Russia. She's Russian, and that's what I have heard from other Russians.
